Privacy Policy

How aiveo.uk collects, uses and protects your information.

Last updated: March 2026

1. Who We Are

aiveo.uk is an independent AI news aggregation and educational content website based in England. You can contact us at info@aiveo.uk

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information. Depending on how you use this site, we may collect:

  • Visitor data — we log individual page visits using our own server-side tracking. Each visit record includes a cryptographically hashed (pseudonymised) version of your IP address, the page visited, date and time, your country (derived from your IP address via a third-party lookup), the referring website, and a truncated browser identifier. Your raw IP address is never stored. No names, email addresses, accounts or cookies are involved in this tracking
  • Download data — if you download a document from this site, we collect your email address in order to send you the document. Your email address is stored on our server. Your IP address is not recorded as part of this process
  • Payment information — if you make a donation, your name, email address and payment details are processed by Stripe. We do not store card details ourselves
  • Email address — if you contact us directly by email

We do not use third-party analytics platforms such as Google Analytics and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information collected is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Fulfilling document download requests and sending download confirmations
  • Processing donations and sending payment confirmations (via Stripe)
  • Responding to direct enquiries
  • Understanding visitor numbers and usage patterns to improve the site

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling or automated decision-making. We will not send marketing emails to addresses collected through the download service unless you separately opt in to receive them.

Our lawful basis for collecting pseudonymised visitor data is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — specifically, our interest in understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. We have assessed that this minimal, pseudonymised tracking does not override your rights and freedoms, particularly as no directly identifiable data is stored. Our lawful basis for collecting your email address when you download a document is consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) — you provide this information voluntarily in order to receive the download.

4. Payment Processing

Donations are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, a third-party payment processor. When you make a donation, you are subject to Stripe's own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/gb/privacy. We receive confirmation of payment but do not store your card details. Your name and email address provided during checkout may be stored in our Stripe dashboard for accounting purposes.

5. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties except:

  • Stripe — for payment processing as described above
  • IP geolocation — when you visit the site, your IP address is sent to a third-party geolocation service (ip-api.com) to determine your country. This is used solely to produce aggregate country-level visitor statistics. No other personal data is shared with this service
  • Legal obligation — if required to do so by law or a regulatory authority

6. Cookies

aiveo.uk does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our site may use session-level technical cookies required for basic site functionality. No cookie consent banner is displayed because no non-essential cookies are set.

7. Data Retention

Visitor log data is pseudonymised (your IP address is irreversibly hashed before storage) and contains no directly identifiable personal information such as names or email addresses. Visitor logs are retained for up to 12 months for the purpose of understanding site usage trends, after which they are deleted. Download records (email addresses) are retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted. Payment records are retained in our Stripe account for a minimum of seven years as required for UK tax and accounting purposes. Email correspondence is retained only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry.

8. Security

aiveo.uk is hosted on Hostinger's secure servers. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. Our site is served over HTTPS. Visitor log files are stored outside the publicly accessible web directory and access to any stored data is restricted to the site operator.

9. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Request access to any personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal data
  • Object to processing of your personal data
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@aiveo.uk

10. External Links

aiveo.uk aggregates links to external news articles and resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
